At LEEC we love celebrating all of the holidays with our kiddos! Holidays are a fun, engaging way for children to learn about different cultures and the community they are a part of. They also add a little fun and magic to the everyday by turning a typical day into a celebration. For Valentine’s day, our teachers use the opportunity to discuss friendship, kindness, and family.
Social emotional learning is a critical component of early childhood education. Valentine’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to engage children in learning about their emotions through books and activities.
Valentine’s Day Live Heart
Teaching freindship and kindness is fun and easy with this activities. We have our preschoolers make a heart shape with their fingers and sit in a heart shape then snap a cute picture for them to enjoy. They love the fine motor skill of their hand shape and the togetherness of forming the heart.
Vaalentine’s Day Preschool Heart Crafts
Teachers engage children in crafts such as the heart project (right) where children practiced fine motor skills by cutting a heart out of paper and then gluing different colored paper shapes to the heart.
